Kodagu (Virajpet) January 25,2024(www.justkannada.in): Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that we have done no injustice nor have we humiliated Jagdeesh Shettar in the Congress party.

He was speaking to the media in Virajpet today.

Talking about Jagdeesh Shettar rejoining BJP, the CM said that Jagadeesh Shettar had told that BJP had insulted him by not giving him a ticket and joined Congress. Although we gave him a ticket, he lost the assembly election. The CM said that we made him a member of the Legislative Council and treated him with respect. I am not aware of him rejoining BJP. He had said that he has been humiliated in BJP and will not go back again. He met me 10 days ago in a meeting. After that I have not met him, the CM said.

All the party chiefs will mend it

Replying to a question on the split in I.N.D.I.A, the CM said that all the party chiefs of I.N.D.I.A will mend the rift.

Demand for Free electricity for coffee growers shall be reviewed seriously

Talking about the demand to provide 10 HP free electricity for coffee growers of Kodagu, the demand was there since 2008. What were the BJP MLAs doing. What did Boppiah and Appachchu Ranjan do about this. The MP is also from BJP why haven't they acted upon this, he said. Our government will seriously look into this, he added.

Party President, CM, Party leaders will decide

Talking about Minister KN Rajanna's statement that the party leaders are not taking their suggestions into consideration regarding appointment of Chairmen to Boards and Corporations, the CM said that it is difficult to decide when everyone proposes a name. He said that usually the party president, the Chief Ministers and Party leaders decide on this.

Yatindra will not contest

The Chief Minister, replying to a question, clarified that Yatindra Siddaramaiah will not contest from Mysore- Kodagu in the Lok Sabha elections.
